Biography
Born in Milan in 1926, Sergio Asti studied art and architecture at the Politecnico di Milano from 1947-53. He also opened his own office there in 1953. In 1956 he founded the ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale) together with others. Asti's wide range of work includes designs for buildings, furniture and glass. His collaboration with Salviati & C., Murano, began in the 1960s. In 1957 he received the gold medal at the Triennale in Milan, in 1962 the Compasso d'Oro for a glass produced by Salviati ('Marco'). Asti died in Milan in 2021.
