Biography

Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet (Brussels 1880 - Asnières-sur-Seine 1948 or 1950).

Born in Belgium, she studied sculpture with Jef Lambeaux (1852-1908). She moved to Paris around 1913 and exhibited for the first timeat the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français that same year to great acclaim. Soon after, she received the French citizenship. From 1937 to 1940 she exhibited at the Salon de Independents in Paris and was a member of the Union des Femmes peintres et sculpteurs. Her designs were mainly executed by Edmond Etling, Arthur Goldscheider or Les Neveux de J. Lehmann. Her last documented exhibition at the Salon was in 1945. Her date of death varies, depending on the source, between 1948 and 1950.
