Art Deco ceramics with a twist
Ludwig König was born in Bad Dürckheim in 1891. He was educated at the arts and crafts schools of Dresden and Munich. His professor, Richard Riemerschmid, recommended him to the Majolikamanufaktur Karlsruhe, where he worked from 1922-29. He had teaching assignments at the Badische Landeskunstschule, Werkschule Cologne, Keramische Fachschule Bunzlau (Boleslawiec) and Fachschule für Keramik in Landshut. He retired in 1953. He died in Dachau in 1974.
