Biography
Born in 1896 in Austria-Hungary, Giuseppe Pagano Pogatschnig influenced Italian design in the 1930s and 1940s not only as a designer but also as a publicist.
After studying at the Polytecnico di Torino, together with Eduardo Persico he took over the management of the architectural magazine Casabella in 1930 (until 1943). Together with Gio Ponti he organized the Milan Triennials of 1933 and 1936, and from 1940 to 1943 he was editor-in-chief of Domus.
A vehement advocate of Rationalismo, he was one of the members of Gruppo 7, which later renamed itself Movimento Architettura Razionale.
