Jutta Sika was born in Linz in 1877. She studied at the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt and at the Vienna School of Applied Arts. She was one of the founding members of the Wiener Werkstätte. From 1911-33 she taught at various trade schools in Vienna. She died in Vienna in 1964.
From 1902 onwards she regularly took part in exhibitions, mainly with designs in glass and ceramics. Among others, she was awarded a bronze medal at the World Exhibition in Saint-Louis in 1904 and an honorary diploma at the Exposition Internationale des Arts décoratifs et industriels modernes in Paris in 1925
