Miniature 'Crépuscule neige' or 'Arbres en hiver' vase, 1900-05

With a flattened side. H. 4.3 cm. Cased glass, clear, yellow, and orange powder inclusions. Etched pattern, Grisaille paint, Winter landscape with snowy birch trees at sunset. Signed: Daum Nancy, cross of Lorraine (Grisaille paint) and compiègne (engraved).

In recent years, a small number of vases surfaced that bear the inscription Compiègne and Reims, presumably in the event of the visit of the tsar in 1901. The date c. 1906 should be thus predated to c. 1900.
