Literature:
When this elegant ladies' ring made of gold with pearls was created, Josef Hoffmann had reached the peak of his career. The Palais Stoclet in Brussels, which he designed, was completed in 1911 as a magnificent work of art, entirely made from furniture and everyday objects from the Wiener Werkstätte. In 1903, Hoffmann founded the production community of artists and craftsmen together with Koloman Moser and the financier Waerndorfer, with the aim of shaping all areas of life according to new aesthetic ideals. Jewelry was produced in the first year, and jewelry production remained an important branch of the Wiener Werkstätte in the years that followed. mak.at, Inv. no.
