There was a fierce auction battle for Louis Abel-Truchet's painting 'Chez Poussel' in this year's Modern Art Winter Auction, which ended with a hammer price of EUR 5,500, five times the lower estimate. The scene shows a Parisian pavement café in winter, situated on a busy street. A subject that is typical of the artist, who worked in the Impressionist style. Equally popular were Erna Rosenstein's pastels 'Opętanie' and 'Odlot jesieni' from 1969, which sold for EUR 2,900. International buyers outbid each other on our online platforms and on the phone. In the field of Pop Art, Alex Katz's artist proof of 'Self-Portrait (Passing)' was the most sought-after with a result of EUR 6,000, as was Roy Lichtenstein's exhibition poster 'art of the sixties' at EUR 800.
