Browse auction catalogue onlineIn addition to the classics of international design, unconventional designs await you in the auction on 21 September, many of which will be offered in our auction house for the first time.
This category undoubtedly includes the chair 'Les Dessous de Table' by Yonel Lebovici. An oversized fork, which the French designer had transformed into a fancy cantilever chair in 1992, is offered for the estimated price of € 10,000 - 12,000. The chapter of unusual seating objects also includes designs from the USA such as the asymmetrical couches by Harry Bertoia, created around 1950/51 (estimated prices € 4,000 - 5,000), the two-seater sofa 'Marshmallow' designed by George Nelson in 1956 from a special edition (estimated price € 2,200 - 3,200) as well as the extravagant golden chair by Andres Eduardo Martin, which is estimated at € 2,200 - 3,000.
The absolute highlight of this auction - the iconic 'Living Tower' by Verner Panton - has been enjoying a lot of attention since its arrival in our showroom, not least thanks to its bright color. The Danish designer's love of experimentation found expression earlier in his famous cantilever designs (also in the auction: chair 'S - 275' from 1965, estimate € 2,500 - 3,500) and later in his 'towers', which combined with each other became area-wide seating landscapes, such as at the furniture fair in Cologne in 1970. The seating tower offered here with its red upholstery, in which up to five people can find a comfortable place, is priced at € 9,000 - 10,000.
Beautiful simple and organic forms are equally represented in this auction. Cozy wooden furniture is not only provided by Scandinavian designers this time, such as Svante Skogh with his three-person sofa made of natural teak (estimate € 800 - 900) or the two 'Shaker' tables by Hans J. Wegner, also made of teak (each estimated at € 900 - 1,200). Objects from German-speaking countries are also simple, but for this very reason beautiful furniture for everyday use - for example, the table with two stools by Jacob Müller (estimate € 1,500 - 1,800), the tubular steel shelf 'B22 - Variante' by Marcel Breuer (estimate € 1,800 - 2,200) or the well-known 'Ulmer Hocker' from an early version of the HfG Ulm (estimate € 1,500 - 1,800).
Numerous lighting objects can be auctioned on September 21. The offer ranges from the classic table lamp by Christian Dell (estimate 300 - 350€) to the poetic 'Hana 1' by Ingo Maurer (estimate € 700 - 800) to the ceiling lamp 'Hai' by Reinhard Stubenrauch from the 1990s (estimate € 1,200 - 1,500).
