Catalogue

In the second auction on 19 March, we will be offering equally fascinating designer pieces. Starting at 6:30 PM, designs by international designers such as Verner Panton, Charlotte Perriand, Ingo Maurer, Robert and Trix Haussmann, Ron Arad, and many others will be available.

The French cabinetmaker Pierre Chapo is represented with numerous furniture pieces. His furniture is characterized by clear, geometric lines and natural surfaces. The focus of Chapo's designs is on the material. He prefers to work with woods such as elm and ash. Two cabinets, two armchairs and an extendable dining table are made of elm wood and are offered at estimated prices between €3,200 and €8,000.

Ron Arad also remains consistent in his choice of materials. Around 1989, he devoted himself almost exclusively to metal in his designs. The seating and reclining furniture were produced in small series at Studio One Off in London and finally mass-produced by the Italian manufacturer Moroso. Three different pieces of seating furniture are on offer at starting prices from €700. The rare lounger from the 'Spring' series will be offered for € 7,000 - 10,000. The chapter on Ron Arad is rounded off with two famous 'Rover Chairs', for which used Rover car seats were used (SP € 4,000 - 5,000). A serigraph on metal cardboard depicting one of the early 'Big Easy' metal chairs is also presented (SP 450 - 550€).

A true design icon from the 1960s comes from Verner Panton. A "Living Tower" covered in bright red fabric was already actively bid on in our auction in 2022 and sold for an impressive €35,000. Another example, manufactured by Vitra, is now being offered at an estimated price of €9,000 - €10,000.

Furthermore, a German private collection of fine furniture designed by Eileen Gray, Eero Saarinen, and Warren Platner and manufactured by ClassiCon, Wittmann, and Knoll International awaits you. A small selection of simple tubular metal furniture from the Bauhaus era, popular lamps by Ingo Maurer, and international arts and crafts are also on offer.

Design from the 80s and 90s achieves outstanding results!

Ron Arad's design objects are still in high demand. The rare 'Spring' chaise longue achieved a hammer price of €17,000 after exciting online and telephone bidding.

The extravagant sideboard 'Amor Stripe - Wogg12 - Zebra' by Swiss manufacturer Wogg exceeded the high estimate and was sold to a Swiss bidder for € 8,300 after an intense bidding battle in the room and online.

Selected designs by Philippe Starck are highly sought-after collector's items. The architectural model 'Asahi' sold for €2,200, five times its starting price. The side table/chair 'Mickville' started at €700 and passed the €2,000 mark. A bidder from France bought it for € 2,600.

Two tables in the style of Diego Giacometti also attracted strong bids. A French collector secured the "Table feuilles aux piafs et aux grenouilles" after outbidding three other bidders with a bid of € 9,500. Another bidder acquired the 'Boutons' pedestal table for €8,500.

An Italian collector purchased Verner Panton's iconic 'Living Tower' in a beautiful bright red color. The piece, which had an estimate of €8,000, went for €15,000.

Ingo Maurer's lights are particularly popular, such as examples from his 'Uchiwa' series from the 1970s. The 'Hana II' ceiling light was sold to an American bidder for €13,500.

We would like to thank all bidders for an exciting and successful auction!

All unsold lots are now available in the post-auction sale until April 19.
