Ewald Mataré, 'Horses on the Pasture (five, actually seven horses), 1935c. Color woodcut on laid paper, proof. 12.5 x 33.0 cm (illustration), 43.5 x 61.0 cm (sheet). Verso inscribed in pencil: Mataré horses on the pasture. The edition of approx. 250 copies made after this unsigned trial print was published in 1953 as an annual edition of the Kestner-Gesellschaft Hannover.
