Zinc wash on BFK Rives laid paper, laid down on cardboard. 75.5 x 57.4 cm. Signed and dated in the stone lower edge, numbered lower left: 4/300 and signed lower right: John Lennon (pencil). Print: Curwen Studio, London. Number 4 from an edition of 300 copies. Loose in graphic folder.

The sheet forms the foreword to John Lennon's collection of 14 lithographs, some of them erotic, which appeared in 1969 as 'Bag One' and were delivered in an elaborate portfolio in the form of a bag. According to his biographer and longtime collaborator, Anthony Fawcett, Lennon wrote this poem directly on the zinc plate at the printers. 300 copies of each sheet were printed.
