'Clam' rocking chair

Philip Arctander. 'Clam' rocking chair, 1944. H. 80 x 67 x 96 cm. Made by Nordisk Staal & Möbel Central, Denmark. Birchwood, grey/white sheep skin, crème-white leather buttons.

In the past, the chair had been attributed to Viggo Boesen or Martin Olsen. It was only in the beginning of this year that Bruun Rasmussen, Copenhagen, was able to identify the actual author. It is well established by now that the easy chair was designed by Philip Arctander in 1944. Professionally restored, sheep skin replaced.
