H. 75.3 cm (incl. base). Bronze, dark brown patina, polished. Hands and face of carved ivory. Signed: DH Chiparus (engraved). Base of different kinds of marble and onyx.

Many of Chiparus' figurines were inspired by the creations of the Ballets Russes, which he saw during several of their guest appearances in Paris e.a. He found his models in playbills and contemporary magazines. Shayo, Chiparus, New York 1999, p. 49, Catley, Art Deco and other figures, Woodbridge 1998, p. 83.
