H. 11 cm. Cased glass, milk white and clear. Background frosted. All-round painting in black solder and pink enamel. Motif of a goose shepherdess in Alsatian costume, educating geese. Signed: DAUM NANCY, Lorraine cross (black solder).

The representation goes back to the fairy tale "The Goose Girl" by the Brothers Grimm. These popular topics can be found by Emile Gallé, already, such as the bird school, cf. Hilschenz-Mlynek / Ricke, Glass Collection Hentrich, Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf, 1985, No. 173.
