'Dragonfly' table lamp, 1899

H. 64 cm, Ø 51.5 cm. Shade design by Clara Driscoll. Executed around 1906. Leaded opal glass with a few colored cabochons, mainly in shades of blue, green, pink and yellow. The decor consists of seven large dragonflies with spread wings. The lead is copper-plated and has a green and brownish patina. The wings are made of finely cut copper plates, which represent the structure of the internal articulation. Bronze base, similar brown and green patina. Marked: on the inner edge of the shade on a plate TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 1495 soldered on, on the underside of the foot TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 26875 (embossed).
