Etude vase 'Bleuets' also called 'Artichaut', c. 1900

In the shape of a fruit capsule on a trumpet stand. H. 20 cm. Green-tinted glass with streaky orange-brown powder inclusions, fused, burst precious metal foil and oxide inclusions. Marquetry with two applied cornflowers, blossoms and stems. Wall signed: Gallé Etude (needle engraving).

Long, manufacturing-related crack in the body. Provenance: Felix Marcilhac Collection, Abercron Gallery, German private collection.
