Provenance: From the collection of Maria and Hans-Jörgen Heuser, Hamburg, no. 6110. The present bust, possibly a portrait of an actress, is related both in execution and in size to other female busts (probably allegories of the seasons), the first in the Musée d'Orsay, Paris 'Jeune femme au chapeau orné d'épis de blé', another was in the art trade, Washington DC 'Lady winter', with which there are particularly portrait similarities.
