Philip Arctander. 'Clam' chair, 1944. H. 81 x 66 x 84 cm. Made by Vik & Blindheim, Norway. Beech, stained dark, sheep skin, leather buttons.
In the past, the chair had been consistently attributed to Viggo Boesen or Martin Olsen. It was only in the beginning of 2013 that Bruun Rasmussen, Copenhagen, was able to identify the actual author. It is well established by now that Philip Arctander designed the chair in 1944.
Professionally restored, sheep skin replaced.
