'6009' - 'Vienna' chair, 'Corbusier' chair or 'B9', c. 1900
H. 76 x 54 x 51 cm. Beech bent wood, stained dark, ply, embossed. Marked: Remains of a maker's label (not identified), 9 (crayon).
Le Cobusier used this chair 1925 to furnish his 'Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau' at the 'Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs' in Paris; also later in houses and interiors Le Corbusiers created; thus, in the vernacularer it is called Thonet Corbusier chair.
